Workshop will be run in Leonie Robison’s studio
Day 1- Brush- making and experimental mark making
Morning- Make traditional Japanese tokibo brushes and modern interpretations.
Afternoon- Experimental drawing with your handmade brushes. Explore different
Day 2- Baren making and test printing
Morning- Make a traditional rope baren.
Discuss non-traditional materials that can be used in place of a baren for printing.
Afternoon- Print with your new baren and compare it to a range of barens.
All materials supplied.
Sketchbook/ notepad, pencil/ pen
Pre-carved, small linocut or woodcut block for comparing barens. Some available to borrow at studio
Closed in shoes, apron/ wear old clothes
Lunch (shops 5 minute drive away)
Two day workshop $250 OR
Brush- making 1 day workshop $125
Baren- making 1 day workshop $150
